Hiking and Horseback Riding

The many trails in the National Forest and Wilderness Area surrounding Crazy Horse Ranch offer excellent opportunities for horseback riding and hiking.  This horse looks ready to go!

Because it is situated adjacent to a large wilderness area and is surrounded by national forest, Crazy Horse Ranch is an excellent base of operation for non-motorized recreation.  With a wide range of trails to choose from, our guests can find a path through the type of scenery they'd like to see, requiring as strenuous a hike as they prefer.

For our guests who'd rather let an animal do the work, the trails surrounding the ranch offer excellent opportunities for horseback riding.  For your convenience, we offer the use of a corral during your stay, and we can make arrangements for feed during hunting season. Rental horses are usually available from Ferro's Blue Mesa Ranch Resort just down the road. You can contact them at 970-641-4671 or ferrobluemesa@earthlink.net
